I just want to start out by saying this is only my opinion and not the final result! So if you are reading this and don’t agree I would love to hear what book you think is the number 1.

When I came up with the title to this post I thought it was going to be really easy to choose a book.  Actually I thought this was just going to be a very quick post with my answer.  Then I started to think about it a bit more.

I realised that it might not be as easy as I had originally thought!

What to choose!

There are so many great Personal Development books out there.  Some are old classics like Think and Grow Rich and some are great new books like a John Maxwell or Anthony Robbins.

Should it be a communication book? A personality book?  The best selling book? Or perhaps the one that has impacted me the most?

I really didn’t know.  There are many GREAT books on so many different personal development niches that it started to look like I would not be able to pick just 1.

What about all the excellent Goal Setting and Mindset books?

Ok so I realised that probably the best way to answer this would be to just talk about the book that had the most impact on me.  And that books was…..

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

If you have seen any of my videos then you know I am a big fan of this.

So why should I choose this book?  Well it had the greatest impact on me when I started reading these books and getting into the personal development industry.  It was the one that really made me see the world and people differently.

Actually I had a “moment” when I had just finished reading it.  It only took me a week or so to go through it and on that last day I was going out for dinner with some friends and some new people who I had not met.  I have always been able to talk to people but I don’t think I ever really felt comfortable doing so.  Or maybe it was just that I didn’t really LISTEN to them.

Anyway, that night was totally different.  All I wanted to do was listen to what they had to say.  Not just sit there and be attentive but actually LISTEN to what they said.

It was AMAZING.  It was like a new life.  Seriously I know that may sound a little exaggerated but it’s really the way I felt.

The next day some of my friends said that people had mentioned “what a nice guy your friend is” and how they enjoyed talking to me. WOW.  They enjoyed talking to me.

I wasn’t the half drunk one in the corner?

No, I was the interesting guy that they liked to talk with.  Amazing.

So, for me, this is the Best Personal Development Book.  It changed my life and it can change yours too.  You just have to apply what it says.
